What is software migration?

Moving an application to a new environment, framework, database, or platform — for example on-prem to cloud, an outdated framework to a supported one, or a monolith toward services — while preserving functionality and data.

How do you migrate software without breaking production?

We start with an audit, migrate incrementally behind feature flags or in parallel environments, keep a rollback path at every step, and validate with automated tests before cutting over.

Should we rewrite or modernize the existing system?

Usually modernize. A full rewrite is high-risk and slow; incremental modernization — refactoring, re-platforming, and replacing modules — delivers value sooner. We recommend a rewrite only when the current system genuinely can't be evolved.
